Personal Prayer Request

Grace and peace to my brethren, and thanks to our Father in Heaven through His Son Jesus Christ who ever lives to make intercession on our behalf, whom He has redeemed to be a royal priesthood unto Himself.

I need to bring a personal prayer request to all of you: this morning I woke up and a quarter of my vision in my left eye is gone.  And by my estimate, it seems to be maybe getting worse.  I’ll be visiting an optical center tomorrow morning, but there is pressure in my eye, when I am exposed to light, it flushes the rest of my vision, and my eyes are not tracking together anymore.

just got a new job here that would support us and help pay for some of the ministry work we’re doing (literally, today would’ve been my 3rd day on training).  The manager said he thinks what I described is the same thing that happened to him a few years ago and said it was an ordeal for him.

I want to encourage all of you to abound in grace and make intercession before our Father on behalf of all the Saints.  Whether this is a temporary thing or permanent situation for me is according to the will of the Lord– but, beloved brethren, every day I live here on earth I see more of the enemies traps and snares being sprung as he prowls about looking for those he may consume.  Therefore, my beloved brethren, pray earnestly for the souls of the Saints, both those who are mature and well advanced in their faith, and those who are new born babes.

May the grace, mercy, and peace of Christ overflow towards all you who believe in Him and follow Him in faithfulness.

  1. Thanks Karen!

I greatly appreciate your prayers on my behalf! The Lord has been infinitely merciful to me; the peace of Christ abounds fully towards me here and the joy that overflows floods my cup- He has shown me the exceeding precious worth of the things that God has blessed in Christ and how precious the listtlest of things in the Kiingdom of God are!

I’m just going to give one update on my next post because it’s very difficult to write for me right now.

Again, thank you so much for your prayers– may the grace, mercy, and peace of Christ abound towards you without limit, to know the hope of your calling in Christ, our greatly beloved Savior and precious Lamb, to know the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the Saints, and the exceeding greatness of His power towards us who believe through Christ Jesus who has been seated far above every power, domion, and principality! Amen!

  2. Yikes,. that sounds dicey, and slightly scary. I’m glad though that it is leading to further opportunities and not to go to waste. :S

    1. Thanks man! I’m going to write an update for everyone here since y’all have been praying for me (which I really appreciate) since it’s difficult for me to write, I’m trying to sort of combine everything here.

It’s been a while since I’ve heard from you, how are you doing? I hope all is going well, I remember you were quite swamped with your schooling.

  3. Hi David. I myself had the shock of vision loss. My left eye is blind except for some peripheral vision.
O God, grant us the serenity to accept the things that we cannot change; a great courage to change the things we can and wisdom to know the difference so that living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time, accepting hardships if on the pathway to peace, we are taking, as Jesus did, the world as it is, not as we would judge it. We surrender to Your will; that we may be reasonably happy in this life, and supremely happy in Your service forever.
Lord, look upon David with all mercy placing upon him Your healing hand and Your life giving radiance to flow through every cell of his body and into the depths of his soul, cleansing, purifying, nurturing David for wholeness and strength of his service in your Kingdom. Amen
Dear Father, help us as we spread Your Love everywhere we go. Penetrate and possess our whole being so utterly that we may only be a radiance of Yours. Shine through us and every soul that came to Your service. We wish only to shine brightly for the world to see You. Amen.
Of course, I join you in prayer for all servants and saints daily.

    1. Thank you, brother! A brief update: they’ve got me on steroids and are going to do an MRI tomorrow to check for M.S. They wanted to do it today, but, after all day at the doctors, not eating anything, and being pumped full of drugs that mess with your mind, I told them I was going home to get some rest and would talk to them tomorrow about it.

Yesterday after I posted this, I lost the rest of my vision in my left eye, so I went to the ER to get a CT and make sure there was nothing that was immediately life-threatening (there wasn’t).

I am rejoicing because this has turned into an opportunity to pray with and preach the gospel to two different men.

This may sound strange, but please add to your prayers that the following days in the hospital may be spiritually profitable. The thing that I will not accept is being made unprofitable to the Kingdom. I’ll be honest, I’ve never had anything affect my mind like the steroids did, and I couldn’t hardly think, but, as Paul prayed for us to know the greatness of His power towards us who believe through Christ Jesus who has been seated in the Heavenlies, far above every name, power, and dominion, there is nothing that can overcome because Jesus has overcome all things– so please pray that God would make this fruitful. I have a minimum of 2 more days in the hospital (assuming my heart makes it through all this! haha).

Thank you, brother, for your words, encouragement, and prayers, they mean a lot!

Heavenly Father, I lift up brother Eric to you, as he has lost his vision in his left eye, I pray, as I pray for myself, that you would grant to him and me the most desirable vision of all, that we may see You, as Jesus said, “blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God”; Father, that the eyes of our understanding may be enlightened by the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, Father, grant that Eric would abound more and more in the grace of Christ, denying ungodliness, and being sober, righteous, and godly in this present age, knowing You, his Father in Heaven, nad Your Son, Jesus Christ, being a man who walks in fellowship with His Savior daily! I pray, calling upon the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, Amen!

      1. Brother David, praying for you and praising God for the opportunity He has opened up to you to preach the Gospel, and that your zeal for Christ and His Word has not diminished in the least! Earlier today these words regarding John the Baptist’s ministry struck me: “John also was baptizing… For John had not yet been thrown into prison.” John continued to work while it was still day, and God has given you that same Spirit!

Also agreeing with you in prayer that our God might shine His face on us and grant us that “most desirable vision of all,” so we might treasure and delight in Him as we ought for He IS altogether Lovely!

Merciful and gracious God, pour out Your Holy Spirit upon David to strengthen and embolden Him. Use his weakness to show Yourself strong. May this illness present opportunities for Your Word to run speedily and be glorified, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
