I Will Witness of What I Have Seen and Heard

So that this spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from no on they speak to no man in this name. So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, ‘whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.‘” ~Acts 4:17-19

Will you listen when you are commanded to silence God? Will you silence that which you have seen and heard, if indeed you have seen and heard the things brought to us and worked in us by the glory of Christ Himself?

When your families demand that you silence the witness of Christ in you, will you comply? When society is systematically cordoned off from the loving hands of Christ compelling you to serve the broken and needy, will you comply? When your friends can no longer stomach the testimony of righteousness in you by Christ and seek to silence you, even as Cain silenced Abel because his deeds were evil and his brothers were righteous, will you comply? When the “churches” demand that the righteous gospel of Christ be perverted, will you comply? When your flesh seeks to revive itself in accordance with all the wicked lusts of this day, will you comply?

We must judge for ourselves this day whether it is right to listen to men rather than God, and count the cost, not loving our own lives even unto shame, homelessness, rejection, yes, and even unto death!  By the power and grace of God, even His mercy, I will not cease to bear witness to the things which I have seen and heard in Christ by Whose mercy I have been made alive.

And here is His testimony: that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all, and He made Himself evident to all mankind, but man worshiped instead the creation and did not give God glory, even denying Him who created them and exalting themselves and their own images in idolatrous glory taking joy in the carnal desires of the lusts of the flesh, but that because of Jesus Christ, the long-suffering grace and mercy of God has been highly exalted giving unceasing witness to the living hope and eternal gospel, witnessed of first by the prophets and being brought to us by the exceedingly precious Lamb of God, to the end that we should be made more than conquerors in Christ, triumphing over sin and death by the cross and resurrection of the Holy Spirit and the blood of Christ that cleanses us from all sin, so that of these things we might become partakers in all holiness and purity.  Yes, we have been called into the Kingdom of God, which shall see no decrease, nor shall the gates of Hell prevail against, by the preaching of the Word that all may enter who would enter by faith, being clothed in the white robes of Christ.  Glory to God forever that His righteous judgments will prevail!

This is the gospel that churches have become ashamed of, families have been divided by, academics have mocked, the workers of iniquity have not understood, and the faithless have not seen, but which is so true and evident that they have all with one accord sought to silence!

Brethren, be not deceived, though you do not presently see all things subdued to Christ, yet do not surrender yourself to the flood of wickedness that is this generation, knowing that God has reserved all sin for the wrath to be revealed in the Day of His Visitation!  He has established an eternal Kingdom, unshakable, held securely and reserved for us in Heaven that will be revealed with Him when the skies are rolled back like a scroll!

Has God not made the works of the flesh evident by His Spirit and condemned them in the flesh (Galatians 5:20-21 & Romans 8:3)? But so that we may know, all greediness, envy, slander, gossip, lust, drunkenness and drunken parties (they are separated in the scriptures), fornication and adultery, lies, malice, and all idolatry are not of God but of the devil, and all such who work these will suffer the wrath of God.  All such things God will wipe forever from before His face, that righteousness and all Holiness might reign eternally before Him, without even a spot or a blemish!

I want to exhort my brethren not to be lacking in anything because all the promises of God are “yes and Amen” in Christ Jesus.  These promises, which some men have defiled by setting them upon the flesh, have been given to you that you might be made full in Christ, becoming a partaker in the divine nature of God!

Therefore, be all the more diligent to test yourself to see whether you are in the faith and have been born of the incorruptible see of Christ!

  1. Thanks, David — especially for the reminder that all the promises of God are “Yes and Amen” in Christ Jesus! May our God who has opened our eyes to see Him and our ears to hear Him strengthen us to witness of Him, that we might be found faithful, and not shrink back from speaking ALL the words of this blessed Life to the praise of His glory!
