His Mercy Endures Forever

This is a post that I do not know how to write.  All I want to do is exhort you, my brethren, and urge you from the depths of my heart to persevere in the race that we are running and be prepared to endure the things that are coming.

I feel compelled to share a small glimpse of our experiences since coming back to the US because I feel the exceedingly joyful burden of the Lord to share a word of exhortation with you; there are many among you who will face rejection, abandonment, and betrayal at the hands of your family for the sake of your resolute faith in the Word of God– because you refuse to put culture above God’s authority.

Upon our return to the US, my wife and I were abandoned and kicked out by my family because of the faith we have in the Word of God; in a turn of events which are nearly inconceivable to me, our faith in God’s Word and our path in life appears to have become reprehensible to them.

By the mercy and grace of the Lord, He provided the hospitality of a friend who took us in for a few days until we had arranged to move the rest of our things out and place them in storage, and later the hospitality of Brad and his wife to take us in while we search for work in the area that the Lord is calling us to minister in.

He has shown us His faithfulness and the abundant grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

My brethren, we are in a time when you will see prophecy fulfilled if you are obedient to God, or be blinded to it by your disobedience, doubt, and the sin that so easily entangles!

Let those who fear the LORD now say, ‘His mercy endures forever‘” (Ps 118:4).

I am prepared for the things that will happen here because the Lord has told us they will happen; we will be reviled and hated, mocked and scorned, and given shame and contempt for His message of hope and reconciliation in love.

Brethren, I want to tell you that the flesh resists being tried; it hates uncertainty, it hates pain, it reviles rejection, and faints under the heat of scorn.  In every way the flesh wants to seek comfort and safety.  It fears being outcast, it fears the fires and the lashes, and it loathes the cross.  It will make every strong excuse imaginable for you to give in and compromise your faith; but, my brethren, whomever would seek to save their life, will surely lose it, but whomever loses their life for His sake, will surely gain it!

….All these are the beginning of sorrows.  Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.  And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.  Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.  And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.  But he who endures to the end shall be saved” (Matthew 24:8-13).

The Word the Lord has given me to share with the churches is to get ourselves in order.  We must strengthen the limbs that are weak quickly because there are many branches that are sick and dying and about to be cut off; “the ax is laid at the root of the trees” (Luke 3:9), though the age grows dark and the grace of God still abounds exceedingly beyond the darkness, the hour in which the Lord may be found for salvation is quickly running out!

Sin is cruelly chocking the love of so many in whose life it abounds; many have failed to come out, my brethren, though the Lord calls out with grace to us that we may turn from our iniquity and be saved!

Oh how the flesh resists the cross!

Will you hold on to your worldly desires,

to remain in the filthy mires?

And give up all His Heavenly riches,

to walk in wrath with earthly wretches?

My brethren, I know how deeply attached the flesh becomes to the pride of life, the lust of the flesh, and the lusts of the eyes!  I know how much the flesh resists uprooting and moving from place to place, how it resists leaving behind comfort, how it resists the ridicule of the carnal and the humility of confession; I know that the flesh seeks every opportunity to revive when left alive, and I know the need for the “daily cross”.

Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Do you hear the Lamb’s call?

Will you arise and forsake all?

Look into the precious Law that has made you free,

Because One endured your shame on the tree!

For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.  For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.  For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.~Romans 8:3-6

Therefore, you, the children of the Lord, who have not set your mind on the things of the flesh, but who walk according to the Spirit, that righteousness might be fulfilled in you, render up your thanksgiving to God, who is worthy of all praise and glory, for the grace and mercy that we have received in Christ Jesus who lives eternally, by grace making intercession on our behalf!

Oh Lord, raise up Your servants!  Count us worthy to suffer for Your Son Jesus Christ, and give us discernment unto this cause!  Put in our hearts and our minds, on our lips and ever before us, Your everlasting Word, Amen!
